Is it safe to travel to Israel?
Israel is currently experiencing conflict, and the situation can change. We are closely monitoring developments and will continue to assess safety as our October trip approaches. Historically, Israel has remained accessible to visitors even during periods of tension, and we will only move forward if conditions are considered safe for travel.
What do travel and flights look like for this trip?
You may either book your own flights or have Stephens Gate Tours arrange them for you, depending on your preference.

For flight parameters and suggestions, hotel transportation and other travel questions, please visit the Stephen's Gate Israel 2026 registration page.
What is the passport timeline?
  • If you don’t have a passport, start now - do not wait.
  • If you do have a passport, check to make sure it does not expire within 6 months after the trip dates (must not expire before April of 2027), otherwise they will not let you in; renewals can also take a long time, so do not wait to renew if you need to do so.
Is there a visa required?
A traditional visa is not required for entry into Israel. However, travelers must apply for an electronic entry authorization (ETA-IL) prior to arrival. The cost is approximately $7 and is valid for two years. Instructions and the application link will be provided by our travel partner, Stephens Gate Tours.
Should I get travel insurance?
Having it is highly recommended. Please note this is not included in travel costs.
What do days look like and how much walking is involved?
Each day will include visits to approximately four to six sites. There will be a fair amount of walking, but most distances are manageable and not overly strenuous. We will have regular opportunities to rest throughout the day.
How many people can go on a tour?
25-30 is a good sized group; they prefer to fit everyone on one bus.
What's the weather like in October?
Temperatures in the 70s/dry; cool in the evenings
What clothing should I wear?
Anything you would normally wear except for at holy sites (no knees/shoulders exposed). Hats & sunscreen are recommended. If at the Dome of the Rock, you must be thoroughly covered, no exceptions.
What is exchanging money like?
American dollars are widely spent in Israel; you can exchange to shekels at the hotel; ATMs are also available (be sure to notify your bank ahead of time)
Are electrical outlets the same?
No, they are European style; you will need a plug adapter/converter if using items with standard plugs
I have another question that isn't listed here.
