Slide: Romans 14:1 Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. (NIV)

Romans 14:1 As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. (ESV)

Romans 14:1 Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do. And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with—even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department. Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. (MSG)

Slide: What are some disputable (gray) matters today?

Slide: The clarity of the Scriptures, not the strength of anyone’s opinion, determines what matters are gray.

Slide: Some conclusions, for The Chapel:
We will seek to submit ourselves to the Scriptures before government and despite difficult circumstance.

Slide: Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; 24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging [one another;] and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

Slide: Some conclusions, for The Chapel:
We will learn to disagree in unity; to be different, and yet be the same.

Slide: Romans 12:4 For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, [each of us is to exercise them accordingly:] if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; 7 if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; 8 or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Slide: Some conclusions, for The Chapel:
We will not allow our language and opinions to dehumanize one another.

Slide: Some conclusions, for The Chapel:
We will strive to make our motive love: for God, for our brother, and for the truth of His Word.
