Slide: There is a divine order to life. Here’s how it works…

Slide: Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, [which is] your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Slide: Things that are out of order: The worship or reviling of angelic majesties.

Slide: Colossians 2:18 Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on [visions] he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind,

Slide: Things that are out of order: Being led through life only by your physical senses.

Slide: 1 John 3:10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; 12 not as Cain, [who] was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother's were righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.

Slide: Things that are out of order: Men and women in the church who don’t care for one another.

Slide: Philippians 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not [merely] look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Slide: Things that are out of order: Church folks who use their words as weapons.

Slide: James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, the [very] world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of [our] life, and is set on fire by hell.

Slide: Our greatest threat to unity is often expectation, not right or wrong.

Slide: Some filters to avoid division:

Is the issue a biblical/moral one?
Is it a preference issue?
Is it a conscience issue?
Do I need to speak to someone about it?
Could there be other factors that I’m not aware of?
Am I considering the whole of the Body or how it only affects me?
Could it be that the Holy Spirit is leading differently than what I think or prefer?

Slide: Things that are out of order: Pastors, church leaders, and “Christian” academic institutions with contempt for the truth.

Slide: 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but [wanting] to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
