Responsibility 1: Grace works.

Ephesians 2:8-10

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves,

[it is] the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His

workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that

we would walk in them.

Ephesians 4:7, 11-13

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's

gift. ... 11 And He gave some [as] apostles, and some [as] prophets, and some [as] evangelists,

and some [as] pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service,

to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the

knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to

the fullness of Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:10-11

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did

not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with

me. 11 Whether then [it was] I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

If not now, when will the acceptable time be?

The Corinthians’ problem was not Paul, it was their own worldly desires.

Philippians 3:18-21

For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping,

[that they are] enemies of the cross of Christ, 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is [their]

appetite, and [whose] glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things. 20 For our

citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21

who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by

the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but

[wanting] to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance

to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

What is restraining your affections?

Responsibility 2: Grace unifies.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14

For even as the body is one and [yet] has many members, and all the

members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one

Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and

we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13

I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; 10 I [did]

not at all [mean] with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or

with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. 11 But actually, I wrote to you

not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an

idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what

have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within [the church?] 13

But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG

YOURSELVES.

Responsibility 3: Grace sanctifies.

The great gift of grace: God the Father will nourish, protect, and uphold you!
