Some thoughts on praying in faith:
- Faith must be in God as revealed in His Word.

“We should not interpret Mark 11:24 to mean, if you pray hard enough and really believe, God is obligated to answer your prayer no matter what you ask. That kind of faith is not faith in God; rather it is nothing but faith in faith or faith in feelings.” (Warren Weirsbe)

Some thoughts on praying in faith:
- Unforgiveness is an obstacle to a powerful prayer life.

Romans 12:18
If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

Matthew 5:21-24
"You have heard that the ancients were told, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER' and 'Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.' 22 "But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, 'You good-for-nothing,' shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, 'You fool,' shall be guilty [enough to go] into the fiery hell. 23 "Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.

Some thoughts on praying in faith:
- Context matters

1 Corinthians 13:1-2
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have [the gift of] prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

Matthew 17:19-21
Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not drive it out?" 20 And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. 21 ["But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting."]

Mark 1:22, 27
They were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as [one] having authority, and not as the scribes. ... 27 They were all amazed, so that they debated among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him."

Mark 8:31
And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

Mark 11:18
The chief priests and the scribes heard [this,] and [began] seeking how to destroy Him; for they were afraid of Him, for the whole crowd was astonished at His teaching.

Prayer is a balancing act:
- Prayer in balance: Accounts for God’s goodness and sovereignty.
- Prayer out of balance: Leans toward functional deism or presumption.

Prayer is a balancing act: To the BAPTIcostals…
- Allow the gift of faith to unlock the power of prayer.

1 Corinthians 12:7-10
But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another [various] kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

Mark 5:34
And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction."

Mark 10:52
And Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and [began] following Him on the road.

Prayer is a balancing act: To the baptiCOSTALS…
- The wise prayer is based on the will of God and for the glory of God.

1 John 5:14-15
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us [in] whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

John 14:13
"Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 15:7-8
"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and [so] prove to be My disciples.
