- Creation transcends culture.

- The Imago Dei is the foundation for the equality of man & woman.

- God gave a commission to “them.”        

Creation observations: Man was put into the garden to work, and it was “good.”

Colossians 3:23-24 

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

1 Corinthians 10:31 

Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Creation observations: There is a created order in the home and church.

1 Timothy 2:13-14 

For it was Adam who was first created, [and] then Eve. 14 And [it was] not Adam [who] was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

Creation observations: The woman was created as a “helper suitable” to the man.

Psalm 115:11 

You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield.

What is a wife’s place when it comes to work?

Titus 2:3-5 

Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, 4 so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 [to be] sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

Proverbs 31:16, 24 

She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard. ... 24 She makes linen garments and sells [them,] And supplies belts to the tradesmen.

The instruction of the Scriptures is for wives to give the home first place.

Creation observations: The relationship between husband and wife is a “complementary” one. The husband and wife have equal value but differing roles which work in partnership. 

1 Peter 3:1-2, 7 

In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any [of them] are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, 2 as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior…7 You husbands in the same way, live with [your wives] in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.

Creation observations: The enemy wants to destroy the image.

What is the secret to achieve balance in these holy tensions?

Galatians 5:22-25 

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
