Whoever loses his life for the Gospel’s sake will save it.
What good is gain if you forfeit your soul?
What will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Jesus will be ashamed of the one who is ashamed of Him.
Application:
We’re quick to confuse Earth and heaven.
Application:
God is sovereign in suffering.
Application:
To pick something up, you first have to put something down.
Romans 8:5
For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
Application:
Don’t let the traditions of men determine our understanding of salvation.
Mark 7:5-8
The Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, "Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with impure hands?" 6 And He said to them, "Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: 'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. 7 'BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.' 8 "Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men."
