Theme: Don’t worry, God will appropriately judge every act of good or evil.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

The conclusion, when all has been heard, [is:] fear God and keep His commandments, because this [applies to] every person. 14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

1 Samuel 24:16-17, 20

When David had finished speaking these words to Saul, Saul said, "Is this your voice, my son David?" Then Saul lifted up his voice and wept. 17 He said to David, "You are more righteous than I; for you have dealt well with me, while I have dealt wickedly with you…20 "Now, behold, I know that you will surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel will be established in your hand.

Proverbs 26:11

Like a dog that returns to its vomit Is a fool who repeats his folly.

Like Saul, we find it easy to go back to our own foolishness.

The uncertainty of life will either create in us a dependency on God or independence from Him.

Psalm 139:16

Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained [for me,] When as yet there was not one of them.

Psalm 33:12

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.

For David, joining with God’s people was more important than life. For us, it’s often just a freedom we take for granted.

Romans 12:4-5

For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

Don’t let your circumstances define you.

Romans 8:35-39

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written, "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED." 37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What do you want the summary of your life to say? What are you prepared to do to so that you walk faithfully?

James 4:17

Therefore, to one who knows [the] right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.
